The David Weekley Corporate Office features many of the details and finishes popular in contemporary residential construction: a brick exterior, rich wood detailing and cultured stone on the interior, and lush landscaping.

Kirksey, the project architect, created a courtyard plan that provides a campus-style atmosphere centered around a series of fountains on the exterior, and team work areas inside. The interior plan emphasizes the dynamic and communal nature of the company’s corporate culture.

Metzger Construction Company also built a three-story parking garage. In facing a tight staging area for the project, the contractor utilized the slab for the garage as a casting bed.

Kirksey, one of Houston’s top architecture firms, chose Metzger Construction Company to build its headquarters in the WestPort Business Park at I-10 and Loop 610.

The 26,000 sf building is constructed of sandblasted tiltwall concrete panels with exposed-structure steel framing on the interior. The facility is divided into three activity zones, the largest of which is the studio space.

Illuminated on the south by a full-height glass curtain wall and nine skylights, the space features indirect fluorescent lighting that supplements the natural light and highlights the interior roof framing.

An exterior aluminum-and-steel trellis serves as a solar shading device, preventing excessive heat gain inside.

Reception and meeting areas line the eastern edge of the building; flanking the western edge are the resource library, administrative offices, employee dining space, and an outdoor terrace. Site areas have been preserved for future expansion.

Metzger Construction recently completed a 3 story 60,000 sf medical office building in Conroe for the D’Agostino Companies of Conroe.

The $8.2 million dollar project includes site work, shell, and interior buildout.

Located near I-45, the project was started in November 2008 and completed in August 2009. The interior build-to-suit includes medical offices, exam rooms and a full imaging center. The project will expand Sadler Clinic’s presence in the Conroe area.

In May 2009 Metzger Construction completed a 63,000 sf headquarters building for Petroleum Wholesale. The 3 story building is clad in glass and granite. Metzger Construction began the site and shell work in August 2008 and completed the project in May 2009.
