Ethan Allen Home Interiors has contracted several times with Metzger Construction Company to build or remodel locations in Houston, San Antonio, and Beaumont.

The spaces in Ethan Allen reflect residential settings so that customers are better able to visualize the way furnishings would look in their homes. Each room features different moldings, casings and transoms, ranging from traditional to contemporary. Rooms are separated by cased openings and columns.

Sur La Table’s retail store in the River Oaks Shopping Center in Houston is one of its largest. It features a large sales floor and a classroom for the company’s culinary school.

The store is located in a historic art deco shopping center built in 1932. To preserve and highlight the original building, the architect left much of the original brick structure exposed. He also created a storefront glass exposure on the south and west sides. 

Because of its weight, the equipment for the large classroom had special requirements, including a complete plywood ceiling to support the television screen, exhaust fan, and large mirror over the cooking surface.

Metzger Construction Company also completed a retail store for the company in Plano. That location features 3,500 sf of retail space and is located in the Lakeside Market.

One of the nation’s fastest growing pharmacy chains has chosen Metzger Construction Company to build several locations in the Houston area. These free-standing buildings average 12,000 sf and include office and retail space.

Metzger Construction Company has built 10 locations for the home improvement chain, throughout the Midwest and in Texas. The tilt-wall retail facilities average 120,000 sf and included retail, nursery, and office space.
